Dutch Actress Famke Beumer Janssen was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She started to study economics at the University of Amsterdam then she went to America and worked as a model. Later, taking a break from modeling and majored in writing and literature at Columbia University and studied acting with Harold Guskin. Her first film was the crime drama Fathers & Sons (1992). Famke received strong critical acclaim as Xenia Onatopp in "GoldenEye" (1995). She played Jean Grey/Phoenix in the "X-Men film series" (2000–present), Ava Moore on "Nip/Tuck" (2004 - 2010), and Lenore Mills in "Taken" (2008) and "Taken 2" (2012). She was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for Integrity by United Nations in 2008.
